Coelho is a cap sleeve dress in Kala Cotton fabric. Kala cotton is native cotton of India, hardy and resilient even under harsh weather conditions. Kala cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) is an indigenous strain of completely rain-fed ‘old world’ cotton growing naturally in the arid, drought-prone areas of Kutch. Its high drought tolerance imposes minimal or no demand on scarce water resources, which makes it extremely water efficient. This indigenous variety is handspun, dyed in natural colors and hand woven in Bhujodi. The panelled dress is embellished with fine hand embroiderey on the neckline and panels.
