CARLOS ORGANIC COTTON KURTA OLIVE

Carlos is a handcrafted pintucked kurta in handspun , handwoven organic cotton by the weavers of West Bengal. The gorgeous Olive shade is a result of natural color derived from the leaves of plant Karungali.The fresh leaves are smashed along with little aloe juice and iron earth crust by wooden pestle and the sapooze out is separated. The dark thick sap obtained is fermented afterwards in a mud pot for 7-8 days with addition of jaggery and lime solution. The scum formed above is discarded and the decanted clear solution is used for this shade on the fabric. This fabric is by MG Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan Foundation working towards the revival of Bengal Muslin.
